Overview

Our vision is to become a missional church of 10,000 meeting the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of people in Jesus’ name. Reporting to the Youth Director (or designate), this position supports that vision by helping create a positive, welcoming, and meaningful experience for youth connected to our Ajax community.

This role provides hands-on ministry experience in youth programming, event planning, and leadership development. The Youth Intern will assist in the planning and implementation of weekly youth gatherings, Sunday programming, and summer youth initiatives. They will also help support youth serve teams and assist with community-focused events and Sanctus Summer Camps.

The rate of pay for this role is $19/hr.

Due to funding restrictions from Canada Summer Jobs, applicants are required to be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons between the ages of 15 - 30. International students, — including those on a work permit or student visa — are not eligible.

  • Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of weekly youth gatherings and Sunday youth programming.
  • Help oversee youth during weekly events and Sunday services.
  • Support the care and communication of youth, parents, and youth serving teams.
  • Assist in leading and developing youth serving teams.
  • Help plan and execute summer youth events, including community outreach initiatives.
  • Support Sanctus Summer Camps as needed for children and families in the community.
  • Contribute to youth ministry projects, events, and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Education and Experience

    Educational Background:
    Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree, diploma, or training in Youth Ministry, Theology, Education, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    Experience:
    Experience serving in youth ministry, camp leadership, mentoring, or working with youth is a strong asset.
    Experience leading groups, facilitating activities, or coordinating events is helpful but not required.
