Sanctus Church’s vision is to become a missional church of 10,000 meeting the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of people in Jesus' name. The following staff position is critical in helping Sanctus execute on the fulfillment of that vision.
Under the direction of the Executive Pastor of Ministries, this role will help ensure people are seen, known, discipled, and sent — both within and beyond the walls of Sanctus. They will be a highly relational leader working alongside the site pastors. They will work to galvanize and equip our serve teams, staff and congregation in alignment with Sanctus’ vision, mission, and values. They will also assist with the execution of key central discipleship pathways such as Guest Services, Alpha and Share the Work. This is a one-year contract position providing maternity leave coverage. The successful candidate will work up to 30 hours/week Sunday-Thursday at a rate of $25/hour, and report directly to the Executive Pastor of Ministries. Both evening and weekend work is required as well as holidays such as Easter and Christmas Eve. Work is primarily conducted from the Ajax office with flexibility for at-home work. Travel may be required to other Sanctus sites on Sundays when necessary.

- Recruit, onboard, appreciate and provide ongoing training for all Guest Services serve team members, holding the ministry philosophy and strategy of Guest Services.
- Partner with site pastors to build, encourage, train, and shepherd Guest Services teams across sites and be the primary point of contact for this at the Ajax site, creating a thriving serve culture in Guest Services.
- Champion central discipleship pathway initiatives including Next Steps by partnering with/setting expectations for site pastors to strategize execution in their local context, ensuring organizational goals are met for sessions offered, lead conversions and attendance.
- Work closely and collaboratively with Sanctus staff on the hospitality elements of church-wide events like conferences.
- Facilitate a serve culture at Sanctus across all sites by helping pastors build teams, identify, develop, and empower leaders and serve team members, and be ‘equippers of the saints.’
- In collaboration with the Executive Pastor of Ministries execute three Share the Work Campaigns in the ministry year in partnership with Church leadership and Site Pastors.
- Champion Alpha experience across all sites by partnering with site pastors to strategize execution of Alpha in their local context, ensuring organizational goals are met for Alphas offered.
- Alongside the Executive Pastor of Ministries, assist with Alpha Anywhere, including training for congregants to lead Alphas in their area of influence.
- Attend all-staff gatherings and be a resource for hospitality elements of these meetings.
- Work closely with the Executive Pastor of Ministries on ad-hoc pastoral projects and other duties as required.
- Preference will be given to candidates with the following profile:
- Familiarity with Sanctus Church.
- Personal experience with leadership development
- Personal experience with a small groups ministry
- Experience working in a multi-staff, large, church context is an asset.
- Work experience in a fast-paced, high-caliber team environment is an asset.
- Completion of post-secondary education preferred.
- Able to provide a minimum of 3 character and work-related references.
- Some combination of administration, hospitality, shepherding, mercy and exhortation. Other gifts are more than welcome.
